About Me
Hello, my name is Kayla Boles. I am from Murfreesboro, TN. My love for all things dance (and music) began when I was three years old. Since then, I have been a student at 3 different studios (Dance Works, CAT Choreography, and B Attitude Dance), participated on my middle and high school dance team (Oakland Middle and High School), and praise danced for many years at my home church in Nashville (Mount Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church).

I was a member on the Oakland Middle School dance team for 2 years (7th & 8th grade), where I served as the captain my 8th grade year. At Oakland High School, I was a member of the dance team all 4 years, where I was named co-captain my senior year.

STUDIO DANCE
Now for studio dance, there’s a bit more history there. As I mentioned before, I danced at 3 different dance studios throughout my career. Each studio adding to my unique dance style that I hope you come to love and appreciate. My dance career started at Dance Works when I started taking classes at 3 years old. Since then, my love for music and the stage grew. During my time at Dance Works, I also participated on the Jr. Rec competition team, the Rubies competition team, and the Emeralds competition team. Dance Works instilled a strong, solid dance foundation within me while showing me the relationship between imagination and dance.
Next, my dance career brought me to CAT Choreography. At CAT Choreography, I participated in many recitals, some competitions, and even a VBS dance tutorial video. CAT expanded my love for the different elements of music. Every beat, every detail matters. This is where my love for complex songs and beats come from. The gift CAT Choreography gave me is stronger musicality.
After some time away from competitive dance and as my desire for the stage reached its peak, only the energy of dance competitions could fill this void. This is where B Attitude Dance entered my life. I have all the love in the world for Dance Works and CAT Choreography, but B Attitude Dance (B.A.D for short) is personal. Not only did I grow up with the family who owned the studio, but they also allowed me to grow in the ways that I hadn’t before. During my time at B Attitude Dance, I pushed through the anxiety and self-confidence struggles that I had and performed my very first solo. Being on stage by myself was my biggest fear in dance, and it was something that I overcame. I will always be grateful for that. Along with the courage to push myself in ways that I did not know I could, B.A.D. taught me the importance of investing in yourself physically.
Praise Dance
Although I have danced at different studios and on different teams, learned many styles and techniques, competed on many stages, nothing compares to the life-changing joy that I entered my life when I started dancing for the Lord. Praise dancing is the most meaningful form of dance in my life and it is crazy that at first, I did not want to do it. Look at God do His work! My Praise dancing journey started with me joining my church's Ministry in Motion team. Eventually as life guided everyone on their path elsewhere, I became a team of one. All these years later, I have been spoiled by it. I genuinely believe this was one of the greatest gifts God has given me. It allowed me to discover and craft my unique style of Praise dancing which is often letting the Holy Spirit speak to me in the moment and letting my movements as well as emotions flow. My unique style utilizes all my experiences from studio and competition dance. During a praise performance is one of the moments I hear and feel the Holy Spirit most. It is truly special to me. Through praise dancing at Mount Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, I have had the privilege to perform and share my gift with other churches. This chapter of my dance journey has changed my entire life. It has gifted me the pleasure of growing my relationship with God and knowing Him in a way that I did not before.
