Friends, this is my Dance Diary! Welcome!
What better way to kick off my first entry than on Werk It Wednesday (and my birthday :D)!! I am beyond excited to invite you to join me as I rediscover myself and my love for dance through this journey. As you soon will come to learn, each entry will be posted on a themed day, so I encourage you to keep coming back to check out the latest entries.
When I was figuring out which dance I wanted for the inaugural post, this one instantly came to mind. Often when I describe to people how much dance means to me, words aren't enough. It's usually how my face lights up or my demeanor changes when I talk about dance that is the signal. This piece Family Matters is a very special one! It is a piece that I had the privilege to create with my dynamic younger sister Kellita and perform alongside our dad, Richard, for my last showcase of my senior season at B Attitude Dance. We put the family in Family Matters! Remember these faces because you may see these special guests in the future. As I alluded to earlier, this brings you into my world. Dance is more than a hobby for me. It is one of my deepest passions, and I believe that passion is seen so clearly.
If you've seen me dance before, I hope this shows you a different side of me or simply brings you enjoyment. And if this is your introduction to me dancing, then I hope this gives you a glimpse of the joy dance produces in me that I often can't put into words.
